UGC NET June 2026 Result DeclaredDeclared
UGC NET जून 2026 रिजल्ट घोषित
Overview
The National Testing Agency has declared the UGC-NET June 2026 result, covering 84 subjects. The examination was held on 22, 23, 24, 25, 29, 30 June and 05 July 2026 at 655 centres in 286 cities, the answer key challenge window ran from 16 to 18 August 2026, and the result was declared on 28 August 2026. A re-examination in English, Commerce and Sociology was held on 09 and 10 September 2026.
The numbers show how selective the examination is. Of 7,73,806 registered candidates, 6,07,151 appeared. 4,241 qualified for both Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor, 45,904 qualified for Assistant Professor and Ph.D admission, and 97,434 qualified for Ph.D admission only.
Those three outcomes are not interchangeable, and the scorecard states which one applies to you. JRF carries a fellowship and is awarded against a limited number of places in each subject. Assistant Professor eligibility is what universities ask for at recruitment. The Ph.D only category, introduced when the examination was restructured, allows admission to doctoral programmes without conferring eligibility for appointment as Assistant Professor. Download the scorecard from ugcnet.nta.nic.in and keep it, since eligibility is claimed against that document for years afterwards.
Update, 17 September 2026: NTA has declared the result of the re-examination in English, Commerce and Sociology, held on 09 and 10 September 2026 at 454 centres in 272 cities. Of 1,96,491 candidates registered in these three subjects, 1,20,355 appeared. 824 qualified for JRF and Assistant Professor, 11,610 for Assistant Professor and Ph.D admission, and 23,154 for Ph.D admission only. The provisional keys were open to challenge from 10 to 13 September 2026, and the final answer keys and subject and category-wise cut-off marks for the three subjects were published along with the result.
