First PRAMAAN Certificates Issued Under Indian Forest and Wood Certification Scheme

Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav handed over the first PRAMAAN certificates under the Indian Forest and Wood Certification Scheme (IFWCS) in New Delhi. They went to the Andhra Pradesh Forest Development Corporation for 33,000 hectares of plantations, and to Govind Mohapatra, a farmer associated with the Odisha Bamboo Development Agency, after field and management audits. The certificates help Indian timber producers and exporters meet global rules on deforestation-free and responsibly sourced wood. The scheme was launched in December 2023 and is operated by the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal. For exams: PRAMAAN is India's own forest and wood certification.

केंद्रीय पर्यावरण मंत्री भूपेंद्र यादव ने नई दिल्ली में भारतीय वन और काष्ठ प्रमाणन योजना (IFWCS) के तहत पहले 'प्रमाण' (PRAMAAN) प्रमाणपत्र सौंपे। फील्ड और प्रबंधन ऑडिट के बाद ये प्रमाणपत्र आंध्र प्रदेश वन विकास निगम को 33,000 हेक्टेयर बागानों के लिए और ओडिशा बांस विकास एजेंसी से जुड़े किसान गोविंद महापात्र को दिए गए। ये प्रमाणपत्र भारतीय लकड़ी उत्पादकों और निर्यातकों को वनों की कटाई-मुक्त और ज़िम्मेदारी से प्राप्त लकड़ी से जुड़े वैश्विक नियमों को पूरा करने में मदद करेंगे। यह योजना दिसंबर 2023 में शुरू हुई थी और भारतीय वन प्रबंधन संस्थान (IIFM), भोपाल इसका संचालन करता है। परीक्षा के लिए: 'प्रमाण' भारत का अपना वन और काष्ठ प्रमाणन है।
