Indian Parliamentary Delegation Led by Harivansh Attends 153rd IPU Assembly in Tanzania

An Indian parliamentary delegation led by Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh left for Arusha, Tanzania, for the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), held from 5 to 9 October 2026. The theme is 'Enhancing good governance and empowering communities through inclusivity, trust and opportunities for all.' The delegation includes MPs Anurag Singh Thakur, Aparajita Sarangi, Sasmit Patra, Sanjay Jaiswal, Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Lata Wankhede, Bijuli Kalita Medhi and N. K. Premachandran. Harivansh will take part in the Governing Council, the General Debate and the hearing of candidates for IPU President. For exams: the IPU, founded in 1889, is headquartered in Geneva.

राज्यसभा के उपसभापति हरिवंश के नेतृत्व में भारतीय संसदीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल 5 से 9 अक्टूबर 2026 तक आयोजित अंतर-संसदीय संघ (IPU) की 153वीं सभा के लिए तंज़ानिया के अरुशा रवाना हुआ। सभा की थीम 'समावेशिता, विश्वास और सभी के लिए अवसरों के माध्यम से सुशासन को बढ़ाना और समुदायों को सशक्त बनाना' है। प्रतिनिधिमंडल में सांसद अनुराग सिंह ठाकुर, अपराजिता सारंगी, सस्मित पात्रा, संजय जायसवाल, कमलजीत सहरावत, लता वानखेड़े, बिजुली कलिता मेधी और एन. के. प्रेमचंद्रन शामिल हैं। हरिवंश गवर्निंग काउंसिल, सामान्य बहस और IPU अध्यक्ष पद के उम्मीदवारों की सुनवाई में भाग लेंगे। परीक्षा के लिए: 1889 में स्थापित IPU का मुख्यालय जिनेवा में है।
