The Directorate General Assam Rifles, Shillong has issued the notice for the Technical and Tradesman Recruitment Rally 2026 for 354 Group C posts, open only to male candidates. The largest openings are Warrant Officer (Cipher) 124, Rifleman (Electrical Fitter Signal) 32, Rifleman (Armourer) 29, Rifleman (Mason) 29, Rifleman (Vehicle Mechanic) 23, Rifleman (Electrician Motor Vehicle) 22 and Rifleman (Lineman Field) 21. There are smaller numbers in other trades, including Warrant Officer (Draughtsman), Operation Theatre Technician and Physiotherapist, and Havildar (Instrument Mechanic). About 10% of posts in most trades are for Ex-Servicemen.

Online applications run from 28 September to 28 October 2026 (11:59 PM) on assamrifles.gov.in. The rally, starting with an RFID-based physical standards and efficiency test, is tentatively scheduled from 23 November 2026. The PET is a 5 km run in 24 minutes, and the general height standard is 170 cm, with lower standards for listed regions and ST candidates.

Candidates who pass the physical test and documentation take a 100-mark computer-based test, followed by a qualifying trade skill test and a medical examination. The final merit list is made trade-wise and category-wise.
