The Bihar Public Service Commission has re-advertised the fourth phase of the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE 4.0) as Advertisement No. 15/2026 dated 22 September 2026. It replaces Advertisement No. 14/2026 of 18 August 2026, whose application process, due to start on 1 September, was postponed on 31 August because of procedural changes. Online applications under Advertisement 15/2026 are open from 25 September to 26 October 2026, with fee payment until 25 October.

The advertisement originally covered 32,388 posts. A corrigendum issued on 29 September added 493 posts for secondary schools (classes 9 and 10, including Bangla, fine arts, dance, Maithili, Arabic, Persian and music) and 439 posts for higher secondary schools (classes 11 and 12), taking the total to 33,320. The original split was 3,847 posts for primary (classes 1 to 5, initial pay Rs. 25,000), 8,563 for middle (classes 6 to 8, Rs. 28,000), 3,877 for secondary (basic pay Rs. 31,000) and 16,101 for higher secondary (basic pay Rs. 32,000), each with state allowances.

The main procedural change is that a candidate who wants to apply for more than one class group now submits a single online application and marks the posts in order of priority, and pays one fee of Rs. 100. Eligibility is unchanged: the NCTE-prescribed qualification together with CTET or BTET (classes 1 to 8) or STET (classes 9 to 12), with age counted as on 1 August 2026. Selection is through a preliminary examination of 150 objective questions with one third negative marking, followed by a main examination. There is no interview.
