The Local Self Government Department, Government of Rajasthan, issued Advertisement No. 01/2026 dated 27 July 2026 for direct recruitment of 24,752 contractual Safai Karmachari in 183 urban local bodies under the Rajasthan Contractual Hiring to Civil Posts Rules, 2022. There are 24,277 posts in non-scheduled areas and 475 in scheduled (TSP) areas; the largest numbers are in Jaipur (4,811), Kota (1,357), Bikaner (1,084) and Jodhpur (890). Posts in scheduled areas are only for local residents of those areas.

Applications originally ran from 15 August to 28 September 2026. Corrigendum No. 01/2026 dated 24 September 2026 extended the last date to 13 October 2026; all other terms remain the same. Candidates can apply to only one urban local body; applying to more than one cancels all applications.

The post carries an honorarium of Rs. 7,410 per month. Selection is by an online lottery among eligible applicants, done category-wise for each body. Applicants with one year of experience in the same body are considered first, then those with experience in other bodies of the same district, and then those with experience anywhere in the state.
