PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana Completes One Year: 100 Aspirational Agricultural Districts

PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY), approved by the Union Cabinet on 16 July 2025 for six years and launched by the Prime Minister on 11 October 2025, completes its first year. The scheme aims to transform agriculture in 100 Aspirational Agricultural Districts, chosen for low productivity, low cropping intensity and low agricultural credit, with at least one district in every State. It is implemented through convergence of 36 Central schemes across 11 Ministries and Departments, along with State schemes and private participation. District committees headed by the Collector prepare District Action Plans; State committees are headed by the Chief Secretary; nationally, an Executive Committee is headed by the Union Agriculture Minister. Progress is tracked through 121 indicators on the PM-DDKY dashboard run by NITI Aayog. For exams: PMDDKY covers 100 districts and converges 36 schemes of 11 Ministries; it was launched on 11 October 2025.
