RDI Fund Announces First Cohort of 19 Second Level Fund Managers

The Rs. 1 lakh crore Research, Development and Innovation Fund (RDIF) has announced its first cohort of 19 Second Level Fund Managers: 14 Alternative Investment Funds and 5 Focused Research Organisations, with a total RDIF commitment of Rs. 7,131 crore, approved by the Empowered Group of Secretaries on 8 October 2026. The fund provides long-term, patient capital for high-risk research in emerging and strategic technologies. For exams: the RDI Scheme was launched by PM Modi in November 2025; the fund is housed with the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF).
