PRAGATI-50: 50 Model Cities Selected to Set Higher Swachhata Benchmark

Union Minister Manohar Lal launched the PRAGATI-50 initiative, under which the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has identified 50 model cities across 24 states to set a higher benchmark of cleanliness. Taken up on the Prime Minister's direction at the 51st PRAGATI meeting, the initiative works within Swachh Bharat Mission–Urban 2.0. It uses KPI-based targets and technology-enabled monitoring to improve visible cleanliness, solid waste management, used water management, sanitation and citizen participation. The cities include major urban centres, culturally important cities and tourist destinations, and the Minister will review progress every other month. For exams: PRAGATI is the PM's ICT-based platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation.

केंद्रीय मंत्री मनोहर लाल ने PRAGATI-50 पहल शुरू की, जिसके तहत आवास और शहरी कार्य मंत्रालय ने 24 राज्यों के 50 मॉडल शहरों को स्वच्छता का ऊंचा मानक स्थापित करने के लिए चुना है। 51वीं PRAGATI बैठक में प्रधानमंत्री के निर्देश पर शुरू की गई यह पहल स्वच्छ भारत मिशन–शहरी 2.0 के ढांचे में काम करेगी। इसमें KPI आधारित लक्ष्य और तकनीक-आधारित निगरानी के ज़रिए दृश्य स्वच्छता, ठोस अपशिष्ट प्रबंधन, उपयोग किए गए जल का प्रबंधन, स्वच्छता और नागरिक भागीदारी में सुधार किया जाएगा। इन शहरों में बड़े शहरी केंद्र, सांस्कृतिक महत्व के शहर और पर्यटन स्थल शामिल हैं, और मंत्री हर दूसरे महीने प्रगति की समीक्षा करेंगे। परीक्षा के लिए: PRAGATI (प्रो-एक्टिव गवर्नेंस एंड टाइमली इम्प्लीमेंटेशन) प्रधानमंत्री का ICT आधारित मंच है।
