PM Chairs Valedictory Session of National Departmental Summit on Women and Child Development

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the valedictory session of the two-day National Departmental Summit on Women and Child Development at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, New Delhi, on 9 October 2026. The summit brought together Ministers and officials from States and UTs to discuss nutrition and early childhood care, child protection, women's safety and empowerment, and better service delivery through convergence. Stressing Jan Bhagidari, the Prime Minister said Anganwadi Centres should become centres of community participation, suggested that universities adopt nearby Anganwadi Centres and carry out social-impact studies, and proposed district-level Chintan Shivirs, including ones for Anganwadi workers. He also called for greater focus on the health and nutrition of adolescent girls and for age-appropriate modules for children on women's safety and dignity. प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 9 अक्टूबर 2026 को नई दिल्ली के सुषमा स्वराज भवन में महिला एवं बाल विकास पर दो दिवसीय राष्ट्रीय विभागीय सम्मेलन के समापन सत्र की अध्यक्षता की। सम्मेलन में राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों के मंत्रियों और अधिकारियों ने पोषण और प्रारंभिक बाल देखभाल, बाल संरक्षण, महिला सुरक्षा और सशक्तिकरण, तथा अभिसरण के ज़रिए बेहतर सेवा वितरण पर चर्चा की। जनभागीदारी पर ज़ोर देते हुए प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि आंगनवाड़ी केंद्रों को सामुदायिक भागीदारी का केंद्र बनना चाहिए, विश्वविद्यालयों को पास के आंगनवाड़ी केंद्र गोद लेकर सामाजिक प्रभाव अध्ययन करने का सुझाव दिया, और आंगनवाड़ी कार्यकर्ताओं सहित ज़िला स्तर पर चिंतन शिविर आयोजित करने का प्रस्ताव रखा। उन्होंने किशोरियों के स्वास्थ्य और पोषण पर अधिक ध्यान देने और बच्चों के लिए महिला सुरक्षा व गरिमा पर आयु-उपयुक्त मॉड्यूल बनाने की बात भी कही। परीक्षा के लिए: यह सम्मेलन नई दिल्ली के सुषमा स्वराज भवन में हुआ।
