₹1,600 Crore Approved for 41 Pharma and MedTech Projects Under PRIP

Under the first call of the Promotion of Research and Innovation in Pharma MedTech Sector (PRIP) scheme, 41 projects have been approved for about ₹1,600 crore in financial assistance. They are expected to draw another ₹3,020 crore of private investment, taking total R&D investment to about ₹4,620 crore. Of the projects, 27 are in new medicines, 5 in complex generics and biosimilars, and 9 in novel medical devices. Nineteen are by start-ups and MSMEs and 22 by large companies, including Biocon, Bharat Biotech, Sun Pharma, Wockhardt and Zydus. For exams: PRIP aims to shift Indian pharma from volume-driven to innovation-led growth.

फार्मा मेडटेक क्षेत्र में अनुसंधान और नवाचार संवर्धन (PRIP) योजना की पहली कॉल के तहत 41 परियोजनाओं को लगभग 1,600 करोड़ रुपये की वित्तीय सहायता के लिए मंज़ूरी दी गई है। इनसे 3,020 करोड़ रुपये का अतिरिक्त निजी निवेश आने की उम्मीद है, जिससे कुल अनुसंधान एवं विकास निवेश लगभग 4,620 करोड़ रुपये हो जाएगा। परियोजनाओं में से 27 नई दवाओं, 5 जटिल जेनेरिक और बायोसिमिलर तथा 9 नए चिकित्सा उपकरणों से जुड़ी हैं। 19 परियोजनाएं स्टार्ट-अप और MSME की तथा 22 बड़ी कंपनियों की हैं, जिनमें बायोकॉन, भारत बायोटेक, सन फार्मा, वॉकहार्ट और ज़ाइडस शामिल हैं। परीक्षा के लिए: PRIP का लक्ष्य भारतीय फार्मा को मात्रा-आधारित से नवाचार-आधारित विकास की ओर ले जाना है।
