Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit Appointed 29th Chief of the Air Staff

The Government has appointed Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, currently Vice Chief of the Air Staff, as the 29th Chief of the Air Staff in the rank of Air Chief Marshal, with effect from the afternoon of 31 October 2026. He will succeed Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, who superannuates on that day. Born on 9 December 1966, he was commissioned into the fighter stream of the IAF on 6 December 1986. He has earlier served as Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC) and as AOC-in-C, Central Air Command. An Experimental Test Pilot and Qualified Flying Instructor, he has over 3,500 hours of flying on aircraft including Mirage-2000, MiG variants, Jaguar, IL-78, Hawk and Tejas. For exams: Ashutosh Dixit will be the 29th Chief of the Air Staff, taking over on 31 October 2026.

सरकार ने वर्तमान में वायु सेना उप प्रमुख एयर मार्शल आशुतोष दीक्षित को 31 अक्टूबर 2026 की दोपहर से एयर चीफ मार्शल के रैंक में 29वां वायु सेना प्रमुख नियुक्त किया है। वे एयर चीफ मार्शल अमर प्रीत सिंह का स्थान लेंगे, जो उसी दिन सेवानिवृत्त हो रहे हैं। 9 दिसंबर 1966 को जन्मे दीक्षित 6 दिसंबर 1986 को भारतीय वायु सेना की फाइटर स्ट्रीम में कमीशन हुए थे। वे पहले चीफ्स ऑफ स्टाफ कमेटी के अध्यक्ष के एकीकृत रक्षा स्टाफ प्रमुख (CISC) और मध्य वायु कमान के AOC-in-C रह चुके हैं। एक्सपेरिमेंटल टेस्ट पायलट और क्वालिफाइड फ्लाइंग इंस्ट्रक्टर दीक्षित के पास मिराज-2000, मिग, जगुआर, IL-78, हॉक और तेजस जैसे विमानों पर 3,500 घंटे से अधिक उड़ान का अनुभव है। परीक्षा के लिए: आशुतोष दीक्षित 31 अक्टूबर 2026 को कार्यभार संभालने वाले 29वें वायु सेना प्रमुख होंगे।
