PM Modi Completes 25 Years as Head of Government; Thanks President and World Leaders

Prime Minister Narendra Modi completed 25 years of service as head of government on 7 October 2026, counting his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat, which began on 7 October 2001, and as Prime Minister since 2014. He thanked President Droupadi Murmu for her wishes, saying these years have been a deeply fulfilling journey of service shaped by the affection and blessings of the people, and that the country's progress came from crores of Indians participating in its transformation. He also thanked the Vice President, former President Ram Nath Kovind and leaders including the Presidents of Nigeria, the Philippines, Botswana, Serbia and South Korea and the Prime Ministers of Japan, Belgium, Bhutan and Dominica for their wishes, and met L.K.
