Parliamentary Committee Presents 382nd Report on Reforms and Strengthening of NTA

The Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports, headed by Rajya Sabha MP Mukul Wasnik, presented its 382nd Report on 'Reforms and Strengthening of the National Testing Agency (NTA)' to the Chairman, Rajya Sabha on 9 October 2026. The Committee noted that the NTA conducts major exams such as JEE-Main, NEET-UG, UGC-NET and CUET, taken by about 1.2 crore students a year, and suggested a parliamentary framework to ensure NTA's accountability to Parliament. It recommended that the NTA build a large, diverse and continuously updated question bank as the most viable long-term defence against paper leaks, and that in computer-based tests the final papers be set very close to the exam using questions drawn from that bank. The Committee heard the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, the NTA leadership and Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, chairman of the earlier High-Level Committee of Experts. राज्यसभा सांसद मुकुल वासनिक की अध्यक्षता वाली शिक्षा, महिला, बाल, युवा और खेल संबंधी विभाग-संबंधित संसदीय स्थायी समिति ने 9 अक्टूबर 2026 को 'राष्ट्रीय परीक्षा एजेंसी (NTA) में सुधार और सुदृढ़ीकरण' पर अपनी 382वीं रिपोर्ट राज्यसभा के सभापति को प्रस्तुत की। समिति ने कहा कि NTA जेईई-मेन, नीट-यूजी, यूजीसी-नेट और सीयूईटी जैसी बड़ी परीक्षाएं कराती है, जिनमें हर साल लगभग 1.2 करोड़ छात्र बैठते हैं, और NTA की संसद के प्रति जवाबदेही सुनिश्चित करने के लिए संसदीय ढांचे का सुझाव दिया। समिति ने पेपर लीक के विरुद्ध दीर्घकालिक बचाव के रूप में बड़ा, विविध और लगातार अद्यतन प्रश्न बैंक बनाने, और कंप्यूटर आधारित परीक्षाओं में उसी बैंक से प्रश्न लेकर अंतिम प्रश्नपत्र परीक्षा के बिल्कुल पास तैयार करने की सिफारिश की। समिति ने शिक्षा मंत्रालय, स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय, NTA नेतृत्व और पूर्व उच्च-स्तरीय विशेषज्ञ समिति के अध्यक्ष डॉ. के. राधाकृष्णन के विचार सुने। परीक्षा के लिए: समिति के अध्यक्ष मुकुल वासनिक हैं; यह 382वीं रिपोर्ट है।
